Two men arrested after explosives seized

An investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies has led to the arrest of two men for possession of firearms and large quantities of explosive substances, police announced Friday.

The investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service organized crime unit, RCMP, Canada Border Service Agency and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team, led officers to two locations in west Winnipeg and Headingley.

After learning about an explosion in Headingley, investigators determined the individuals who were involved were possibly conspiring to detonate another.
