The scene of Thursday night’s shooting. Police cordons were removed after 6am on Friday.

A major incident occurred on Thursday night on Auckland’s Queen St after two people were reportedly shot after an altercation.

Newshub reported that one person had been shot in the head and police cordoned off a section lower Queen St following the incident.

The injured were taken to hospital.

Video on social media appeared to show multiple armed police on the street, with some of them surrounding a person on the ground.

By 6.30am, the scene had been cleared and it was business as usual on Queen St.

A reporter at the scene said there were no cordons currently in place.
