A crash involving five cars in central Palmerston North has left seven people injured.

Emergency services responded to the crash at 1.24pm Monday at the intersection of Rangitīkei and Cuba streets.

A police spokesperson said a “significant” number of vehicles were involved and multiple people had received minor injuries.

Police and Hato Hone St John attended. The road wasn’t blocked.

There were multiple people in various stages of shock, and it appeared the cars had rear ended each other, the spokesperson said.
