A flax and grass fire being extinsguished at the Taylor River Reserve on Wednesday afternoon.

A scrub fire next to a popular Blenheim walkway has been extinguished on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire and Emergency received multiple calls to the fire at the Taylor River Reserve near Monro St shortly before 4pm, a spokesperson said. One truck from Blehheim station and a rural tanker attended.

Approximately 20 square metres of “flax and grass” was extinguished about 4.40pm.

The spokesperson said they were unsure at this stage what caused the fire. No people were harmed by the blaze, and no buildings were threatened, they said.
