One-year-old boy dies after drowning in Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba Mounties say

BERENS RIVER, Man. – Mounties in central Manitoba say the body of a one-year-old boy has been found along the shoreline of Lake Winnipeg and it’s believed he drowned.

Berens River RCMP say it happened Tuesday.

They say a the boy disappeared from his home and family members began searching for him.

Police say he was found outside in the water.

RCMP say family members performed first aid and then brought the child to the nursing station, where he was pronounced dead.

Berens River RCMP say they continue to investigate.
