A person has been seriously injured after the driver of the car they were in allegedly fled from police in the Hutt Valley suburb of Wainuiomata.
The incident happened shortly after 5am on Sunday, police said.
Police tried to stop a vehicle on Moohan St but the driver did not stop.
Police did not pursue.

The car was found crashed on Main rd shortly after, police said.
One person was seriously injured but their condition was later updated to “stable”. Two others suffered minor and moderate injuries.
