A motorcyclist has died after a crash between a truck and a motorbike in Northland’s Matapouri.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Matapouri Rd, near the intersection of Kaiatea Rd, north-east of central Whangārei on Sunday afternoon.
The crash was reported to police just after 12.30pm, a police spokesperson said.
Police have since confirmed the motorcyclist has died.
The road has since re-opened, after being closed for the afternoon while emergency services worked at the scene.
A St John Ambulance spokesperson said one patient was also treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Northland’s rescue helicopter did not attend the crash.
Matapouri Rd is also known as the Twin Coast Discovery Highway.
