Kings force Game 7 in MJHL final

DAUPHIN — Carson Cherepak made 24 saves for his first post-season shutout to backstop the Dauphin Kings to a 2-0 win over the Steinbach Pistons in Game 6 of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League final at Credit Union Centre Sunday night.

The win allowed the Kings to tie the best-of-seven series 3-3.

Game 7 is scheduled for Wednesday in Steinbach at 7:30 p.m.

Garrett Hrechka scored early in the second period and Logan Calder added an insurance marker late in the third to provide the margin of victory for the Kings.

Will Hambley made 45 saves in the Steinbach net.

Dauphin was scoreless in two power-play chances while Steinbach went 0-for-1.
