Police were called to a crash where a car hit loose livestock near State Highway 1 on Monday morning (file photo).
A driver has struck and killed up to three cows in a crash on State Highway 1 in Manawatū.
There were no other injuries reported in the incident that unfolded near Himatangi at the intersection of SH1 and Taikorea Rd about 5.15am on Monday.
Police were called to reports of livestock loose on the highway about 5.10am and by the time they arrived on the scene about 5.23am the crash had occurred.
The northbound lane of SH1 was blocked while the scene was being cleared.
