A two-car crash in Mount Creighton has left one person injured and blocked a lane between Glenorchy and Queenstown.

Police are in attendance, and confirmed there had been six people injured.

“One person has serious injuries and five others have minor injuries,” a police spokesperson said.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand said they were alerted to the crash at 3:55pm Tuesday.

A spokesperson said no-one was trapped in their cars.

Police said the northbound lane of Glenorchy-Queenstown Rd was blocked while emergency services worked at the scene.

“Motorists should expect delays,” the police spokesperson said.

St John Ambulance and Queenstown Hospital have been contacted for further information.
