UK comedian Bill Bailey is set to return to New Zealand for 14 shows in November and December.
After a tour of the country in 2021, Bailey is coming back to perform his new show Thoughtifier in Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Queenstown, Nelson, Whanganui, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Tauranga, Rotorua and Hamilton.
Bailey is a frequent visitor to Aotearoa, having performed here seven times previously.
His 2021 tour, En Route to Normal, pondered “our changing priorities, the wonder of dogs, how little things can keep you on track, and rhapsodises on his new-found love of skydiving,” the tour promoter said.
In his Thoughtifier shows, Bailey promises to “take us on a jaunt through the error-strewn, distracted, crumb-festooned, sometimes magnificent history of human thought, and how it might help us survive in this brave new world”.
It will be “a magical, musical mystery tour of the human mind, along with some other pressing matters about whales, biophilia, and unrequited love and other thoughts”.
Patriot Brains is hosted by British comedian Bill Bailey. (First published April 2021)
Bailey, 58, is known for his deadpan, mind-bending, observational humour.
He has hosted the NZ comedy quiz show Patriot Brains since early 2021 and has appeared on many UK comedy quiz shows such as QI and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
But he is probably still best known to many New Zealand viewers as Manny Bianco in the hit UK comedy series Black Books.
Tickets for his Thoughtifier shows go on sale on bohmpresents.com from 10am on Monday, July 10.
