The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter crew were called to seven missions this past week.

A total of 231 missions have been flown this year to date, with 21 of those flown during the month of June.

The seven missions flown this week were made up of two interfacility transfers and five medical emergencies.

Due to the colder weather and slightly less call-outs during winter, the crew was also able to fit in training sessions at Rabbit Island this past week.

Conditions change quickly this time of year so please be aware of dressing with multiple layers and taking a PLB with you. This week the crew also winched two patients out of Kahurangi National Park.
