Traffic is closed in both directions between Tyne St and Queen St East in Levin.
A section of State Highway 1 has been closed for emergency water works after a pipe burst.
Waka Kotahi NZTA Central North Island posted on social media that the section between Tyne St and Queen St East in Levin was shut to traffic until further notice to allow for repair works.
Detours are in place, and drivers are being urged to allow for extra time in their journey.
