Winnipegger Tyler Brennan, who plays for the WHL’s Prince George Cougars, maintained his No. 1 spot among North American goaltending prospects for the 2022 NHL Draft in final ranking released by NHL Central Scouting on Thursday.

The 6-4, 184-pound netminder also held down the top spot in mid-season rankings.

In addition, nine Manitobans were deemed worthy of the skater rankings.

Winnipeg Ice forward Matt Savoie, a product of St. Albert, Alta., was rated fourth among skaters. He was followed at No. 5 by his linemate Conor Geekie of Strathclair.

Dominion City’s Denton Mateychuk (Moose Jaw Warriors, WHL) and St. Adolphe’s Owen Pickering (Swift Current, WHL), both defencemen, were rated 14th and 15th, respectively. Winnipegger Adam Ingram, a centre with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms, came in at 27th overall.

Winnipeggers Josh Filmon, a forward (Swift Current, WHL) and blue-liner Hudson Thornton (Prince George, WHL) were ranked 38th and 109th, respectively, while Flin Flon’s Justin Lies, a right-winger with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants, was slotted in at 210th.

Ice forward Mikey Milne, who hails from Abbotsford, B.C., was rated 119th.

Two MJHL skaters also made the grade: Gladstone’s Carson Buydens, a centre with the Virden Oil Capitals, and Steinbach’s Ty Paisley, a left-winger with the Pistons, were designated 167th and 193rd, respectively.
