STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Aaron Clarke had 19 points in Stony Brook’s 79-56 victory against Delaware on Saturday night.
Clarke was 8 of 14 shooting (3 for 4 from 3-point range) for the Seawolves (17-14, 10-8 Coastal Athletic Association). Tyler Stephenson-Moore added 18 points while shooting 6 for 12, including 5 for 7 from beyond the arc, and he also had eight rebounds and three blocks. Chris Maidoh shot 3 of 7 from the field and 4 for 6 from the line to finish with 10 points.
The Fightin’ Blue Hens (18-13, 10-8) were led in scoring by Jyare Davis, who finished with 16 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks. Niels Lane added 11 points for Delaware. In addition, Gerald Drumgoole Jr. finished with eight points.
Clarke led the Seawolves in scoring with nine points in the first half to help put them up 38-29 at the break. Stony Brook pulled away with a 10-0 run in the second half to extend a one-point lead to 11 points. They outscored Delaware by 14 points in the final half, as Stephenson-Moore led the way with a team-high 12 second-half points.
