Search is underway for a jet ski fisherman who failed to return on Saturday, at Kawakawa Bay in Auckland’s east coast.
Police confirmed they would be searching the area on Sunday, with the help of Police Maritime Section, the Eagle helicopcter and a Coastguard fixed-wing plane.
Members of the public who are on the water in the Kawakawa Bay and Firth of Thames area are being asked to be vigilant and report any sightings of the jet ski, floating debris, or fishing equipment.
Anyone with information about sightings is asked to mark down the GPS coordinates and contact Coastguard Radio or call *500.
